The Ads Sales Team develops best-in-class advertising solutions for large brand advertisers, helping them connect with Gen Z, young professionals, students, and teachers. This role is critical to Quizlet's mission of keeping the platform free for millions of users globally.
As a Senior Account Executive, you will own the full sales lifecycle for direct and programmatic advertising revenue. Responsibilities include identifying ideal customers and sales strategies, developing leads, meeting with clients, creating value propositions and sponsorship opportunities, structuring financial deals, negotiating contracts, and closing business. You will leverage your own book of business with client direct and agency contacts.
Key responsibilities:
- Introduce Quizlet's platform to brand marketing decision makers and create excitement around reaching millions of young people
- Partner with sales leadership to develop strategies across display, native, video, custom content, and sponsorship
- Develop industry-specific go-to-market playbooks for revenue growth
- Identify, target, and acquire new direct business to meet revenue targets
- Cultivate relationships with agencies and brands to grow advertising revenue
- Follow up on incoming leads and communicate ad offerings to potential buyers and agency trading desks
- Ensure excellent service and support to prospects and clients
- Manage sales pipeline, plan sales activities, and conduct Win/Loss reviews on new accounts
- Represent Quizlet at industry events
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 8+ years of digital media sales experience, preferably at an online publisher
- Experience selling complex, creative, integrated programs (display, content, social, events)
- Proven experience selling programmatic advertising and educating brands, agencies, and trading desks
- Self-starter mentality with drive to win
- Track record of exceeding revenue goals
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Established relationships with agencies, trading desks, and brands
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing environments
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel as needed
Bonus experience includes large CPG, Retail, Tech, and Telco brand relationships, and experience conceiving and negotiating multi-million dollar partnership programs.
