Vercel, the agentic infrastructure company behind Next.js and v0, is scaling rapidly toward public markets and seeking a SOX Manager based in India to lead execution of the company's SOX 404 compliance program. You will serve as the India execution leader, partnering closely with Vercel's US-based SOX leader and the Finance organization to build a scalable, audit-ready control environment.
Key responsibilities include owning SOX execution workstreams across business process, entity-level, and IT controls. You will lead walkthroughs, risk assessments, control design, and testing for significant financial processes including revenue/order-to-cash, financial close and reporting, procure-to-pay, payroll, treasury, and tax. You will also lead IT SOX execution with IT, Security, Business Systems, and Engineering teams across ITGCs, automated controls, system integrations, access management, change management, and SDLC dependencies.
You will manage the day-to-day SOX PMO for assigned workstreams, coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders on plans and deliverables, identify and assess control deficiencies, and work with control owners on remediation. You will develop and maintain control documentation including process narratives, risk matrices, testing procedures, and control-owner guidance. Additionally, you will identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and scalable processes to improve control monitoring, evidence collection, testing, and reporting while maintaining auditability.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of progressive experience in SOX, internal audit, external audit, IT audit, or risk advisory in public, IPO-ready, high-growth technology, or public accounting environments. You need hands-on experience across both business process and IT controls, including ITGCs, access management, IT operations, change management, SDLC, and automated controls. Strong knowledge of SOX 404, ICFR, risk assessment, control design, testing, and audit methodology is essential. Experience with ERP, CRM, HRIS, and billing platforms (NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday) is helpful.
