Partly is building AI infrastructure for the global repair industry, starting with the $2 trillion automotive market. The company's proprietary foundation model, Interpreter, is purpose-built to understand vehicle damage and parts needed for repair. Founded by ex-Rocket Lab engineers, Partly recently raised a $50M Series B at a $500M valuation and is scaling across the UK, Europe, the US, and Australasia.
This is a forward-deployed solutions engineering role at the front line of Partly's European expansion. You will be the technical engine behind new-market deals across the UK and the Nordics, turning real-world problems into signed pilots and deploying differentiated AI to repair industry operators.
Partly operates two connected layers: Partly.com (B2B infrastructure platform for parts data, cataloging, and procurement across hundreds of integrations) and Partly.ai (AI tool for repairers built on that infrastructure). Both are powered by Interpreter, trained on licensed OEM build data across 52+ manufacturer agreements.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the technical path from first conversation to signed pilot across UK and Nordics: scope integrations, map workflows, clear blockers between prospect and deal
- Build integrations that enable pilots (e.g., CABAS estimating integration for Nordic pilots, custom interfaces for demos)
- Create market demos and portal prototypes proving Partly's capabilities before core engineering commitment
- Produce Technical Readiness Assessments mapping customer systems and pilot requirements
- Build value proposition frameworks, calculators, and reporting (e.g., insurer dashboards) showing customer value
- Translate recurring deal blockers into prioritized product asks; shape product development for new markets
- Coordinate across Sales, Product, and Engineering to solve customer problems and keep deals moving
You'll sit between Sales, Product, and Engineering, resolving technical blockers and building experimental features. The role offers real ownership from day one in a $1.9 trillion industry barely touched by modern software.
Company structure: Headquartered in Austin, TX with offices in London, Christchurch, and Auckland. Quarterly "Season Openers" bring teams together (travel and accommodation covered). Relocation assistance available.
Requirements:
- Comfortable working close to data and code; ability to review code independently
- Can write SQL, read and debug codebases, stand up demos or prototypes without waiting on Engineering
- Strong technical problem solver and systems thinker; breaks ambiguous problems into root causes and generalizable solutions
- Commercially minded; understands how technical decisions affect deals; builds business cases (frameworks, calculators, reporting)
- Excellent communicator who builds rapport; translates fluently between customer world and Partly's Product/Engineering teams
- Self-directed with high ownership; comfortable being sole solutions person in a market, owning problems end-to-end
- Preferred: Experience in solutions engineering, forward-deployed, or technical pre-sales roles, ideally with enterprise customers
- Bonus: Experience in automotive, parts, insurance, or estimating space (CABAS, CCC, Audatex/Solera, etc.) or building integrations against messy external data formats
Note: Company welcomes applications from candidates who don't have all listed skills but believe they could excel in the role.
