Serval is an AI-native automation platform that builds intelligent agents to transform enterprise operations. Founded in early 2024 and backed by Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and other leading investors, Serval is trusted by companies like Fox, Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, and Brex to automate high-volume operational work across IT, HR, Finance, Security, Legal, and Engineering. You will be part of Serval's founding Solutions Engineer team—the first technical sellers at the company. You'll own the technical side of the pre-sales cycle for prospective strategic customers, sitting across the table from sophisticated IT and security buyers. Your role is to earn their trust, prove the platform works, and win the technical decision. As a founding member, you won't inherit a playbook; you'll write it, partnering directly with GTM leaders and account executives to shape how the company demos, runs technical evaluations, and builds the foundation for future solutions architects. Key responsibilities include: - Running the technical sales motion with account executives: discovery, architecture, demos, whiteboard sessions, executive briefings, and security reviews that win technical buy-in - Going deep on integrations with prospects' stacks, including identity providers (Okta, Entra), ITSM and ticketing, MDM, HRIS, cloud, and SaaS applications - Translating unique technical environments and requirements into scoped, value-based use cases and success criteria for pilots - Serving as the credible voice on security and access, fluent in guardrails, approval workflows, least-privilege access, just-in-time access, audit logging, and compliance - Executing clean handoffs to the Deployment team at pilot kickoff with full technical context - Building the foundational SA toolkit from scratch: demo environments, reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, technical FAQs, and competitive positioning - Acting as the bridge between field and product, capturing hard objections and feature gaps and working directly with engineering to close them You are a builder at heart who can scope what matters, stand up demos or proofs-of-value independently, and ship them. You're deeply technical and credible—the kind of person who earns respect from CIOs, Heads of IT, and security leaders in the first meeting. You're a trusted advisor by instinct, listening for the real problem and proving value in the sales cycle rather than pitching features. You're fluent in how agents and LLM-powered systems get deployed and governed inside the enterprise, comfortable in ambiguity, and motivated to own work end-to-end without waiting to be told what to build next. REQUIREMENTS: - 5–7+ years in solutions architecture, sales engineering, or comparable pre-sales technical role at a high-growth B2B software or infrastructure company - Track record of selling technical products to senior IT and security buyers, with hands-on credibility in front of CIOs, Heads of IT, and security leaders - Genuine technical depth: ability to hold your own in architecture reviews, debug integrations live, and answer sharp security questions without relying on decks - Working fluency with the modern IT and identity stack, including identity providers and SCIM, ITSM and ticketing, SaaS administration, APIs, and how access is granted and revoked across organizations - Excellent communication and storytelling skills, translating complex concepts for both engineers and executives - Builder's instinct and high ownership, energized by being first and motivated to create systems that scale a team - Experience with ITSM, IGA, access management, security, or AI automation products is a strong plus
