Ramp is building intelligent financial infrastructure for businesses, automating how over $200B in annualized spend flows through 70,000+ companies. As a Solutions Consultant for the Public Sector, you'll be the primary technical and financial advisor for government agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofits evaluating Ramp's platform.
You'll lead technical discovery and deliver customized demos showcasing Ramp's capabilities for modernizing financial workflows in the public sector. Your responsibilities include architecting secure, scalable solutions that leverage Ramp's APIs and ERP integrations while meeting federal, state, and local compliance requirements (FedRAMP, SOC 2, HIPAA, CJIS). You'll partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams to translate complex customer needs into strategic outcomes.
Key responsibilities: conduct deep technical discovery with public sector prospects; design solutions aligned with procurement and security frameworks; collaborate with Account Executives to drive consensus across diverse stakeholders; lead RFP responses and ROI analyses; guide post-sale implementations; and act as a thought leader in public sector finance modernization through industry events and customer workshops.
You'll need 5-7 years of Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, or Solutions Architecture experience at a SaaS or fintech company. Strong background required in financial systems, accounting workflows, ERP integrations, API integrations, SFTP configurations, and security protocols. Experience supporting public sector organizations with knowledge of procurement processes and IT/security requirements is essential. You should be comfortable influencing executive stakeholders and navigating long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, finance, or related field required.
Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with federal/state procurement frameworks, government financial systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP), programming experience (Python, SQL, Java), cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP), and project management certification.
