Snowflake's Observe business unit is hiring a Solutions Architect to lead the technical architecture layer of enterprise observability implementations. You'll be the architectural foundation of the post-sales practice, designing durable, scalable observability systems that unify logs, metrics, and traces across petabytes of telemetry data. In this role, you'll own the architecture phase of enterprise engagements, working alongside Implementation Engineers to assess complex environments, design end-to-end observability architectures on Observe, and produce high-quality handoff artifacts including reference architectures, design decision records, and implementation plans. You'll conduct technical discovery to understand existing telemetry, infrastructure, data volumes, and operational requirements, then design solutions covering ingestion, pipeline topology, data modeling, enrichment, alerting, and retention strategies. Key responsibilities include: designing target architectures and phased cutover strategies for complex migrations from platforms like Splunk, ELK, Datadog, and Dynatrace; validating that proposed configurations will meet production-scale requirements; advising customers on OpenTelemetry adoption; conducting formal go-live architecture reviews; building and maintaining field demo infrastructure; mentoring junior Implementation Engineers; and capturing reusable patterns to scale across the team. You'll serve as a technical authority on complex customer scenarios, act as a force multiplier for the implementation team, and contribute field insights back to Product and Engineering to influence the platform roadmap. This role requires deep expertise in observability platforms, strong hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, proven ability to lead migrations, and excellent communication skills with both engineering teams and senior leadership.
