Intelligence Center X (ICX) is Siemens' platform for the agentic enterprise, delivering an Enterprise Knowledge Graph, AI/ML, agentic application development, orchestration, and governance capabilities. The Solutions Architect is the technical leader for customer engagements delivered by Siemens Professional Services, working across industries and a broad portfolio including ICX, SLC, Mendix, and other Siemens Digital Industries Software offerings. You will translate business outcomes and process needs into secure, scalable, and supportable solution architectures. The role leads solution definition from discovery through design, build, integration, validation, deployment, and transition. You will govern the integrity of the end-to-end solution, align customer and delivery teams around clear architectural decisions, and ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are implemented using Siemens methods, standard capabilities, and reusable patterns. Key responsibilities include: **Discovery and Solution Definition:** Lead technical discovery workshops to understand customer processes, business outcomes, users, data, systems, constraints, and measures of success. Partner with Engagement Managers, Sales, Presales, and customer stakeholders to convert value hypotheses into executable solution approaches. Define end-to-end architecture across applications, data, integrations, AI, workflow, identity, security, and operational considerations. Establish solution vision, architecture principles, major design decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and acceptance criteria. Identify where standard product capabilities, configuration, extension, or custom development should be used. **Architecture and Design Governance:** Own the technical integrity and coherence of the complete solution, including components delivered by Siemens, customers, partners, and distributed teams. Author and govern architecture documents, functional and technical specifications, interface designs, data models, decision records, and implementation guidance. Define and validate non-functional requirements such as security, performance, scalability, availability, traceability, usability, and supportability. Lead design reviews and ensure implementation decisions remain aligned with approved architecture. **Technical Delivery Leadership:** Provide day-to-day technical direction to consultants, developers, data and AI specialists, integration resources, QA teams, and partners. Decompose the solution into implementable work packages and support project managers with estimates, sequencing, and dependencies. Clarify design intent, resolve technical ambiguity, and remove blockers. Validate that configured, extended, and integrated components implement the approved design. Coordinate technical activities across build, integration, data migration, testing, deployment, and transition to operations. **Customer and Stakeholder Leadership:** Serve as the primary technical advisor to the customer during delivery, communicating architecture choices, tradeoffs, risks, and implications clearly. Guide customers toward Siemens best practices while ensuring legitimate business and technical needs are addressed. Facilitate decisions across business, IT, security, architecture, and operational stakeholders. Proactively manage customer expectations. Present solution status and technical issues to project governance forums and executive stakeholders. **Quality, Risk, and Change Control:** Partner with QA and delivery leadership to define validation strategy and verify coverage of functional and non-functional requirements. Identify architecture, integration, data, security, performance, and deployment risks early with clear mitigations. Assess proposed scope and design changes for technical feasibility, impact, effort, and schedule implications. **Pursuit Support and Practice Development:** Support engagement shaping, proposals, demonstrations, estimates, and delivery plans. Validate that proposed architectures are feasible and appropriately scoped. Contribute reusable reference architectures, patterns, accelerators, and lessons learned. Mentor consultants and technical leads in architecture methods and design quality. **Requirements:** - Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise software or digital transformation solutions, including technical leadership of multi-disciplinary implementation teams - Demonstrated ability to lead solution definition through build, integration, testing, deployment, and transition to operations - Strong architecture skills across applications, data, integrations, workflows, security, and non-functional requirements - Ability to translate business processes and desired outcomes into clear solution designs, implementation guidance, and acceptance criteria - Experience governing technical scope, design decisions, risks, dependencies, and change across customer, partner, and distributed delivery teams - Excellent workshop facilitation, presentation, written communication, and executive-level technical storytelling skills - Ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive timely decisions - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience - Willingness to travel and work across customer locations and time zones as required **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience with Siemens Digital Industries Software (ICX, SLC, Mendix, Teamcenter, NX, Opcenter, Graph Studio, AI Studio) - Experience architecting multi-product solutions connecting enterprise applications, industrial data, AI, low-code applications, and business workflows - Experience in industrial, manufacturing, aerospace and defense, automotive, electronics, semiconductor, energy, or other complex enterprise environments - Experience with cloud and hybrid architectures, APIs and integration patterns, data platforms, identity and access management, DevSecOps, or enterprise observability - Experience leading prescriptive, best-practice-led deployments balancing customer needs with standard capabilities - Experience directing offshore, nearshore, partner, or systems-integrator teams - Relevant architecture, cloud, platform, security, or Siemens product certifications
