As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing complex end-to-end solutions that merge Cognite's flagship products with customer portfolios for both new and existing clients. You will serve as a technical subject matter expert across the professional and managed services catalog, working closely with sales teams, delivery teams, data scientists, and customers to map technical requirements and architect robust solutions. Key responsibilities include: - Design overall technical solutions ensuring fit within customer ecosystems and target architectures - Work with project teams to map requirements for quality implementations, ensuring the right data visualization technology (Power BI, Grafana, Plotly Dash), data transformation technology (Databricks, Azure, GCP, AWS), and data modeling approaches are used - Design integration and data models using Cognite data connectors, SQL, Python/Java, and REST APIs - Ensure integrations are well-designed, robust, and meet quality criteria including CI/CD, logging, and security - Define operational responsibility and support agreements for delivered solutions - Serve as a credible advisor to customers and partners on Cognite Data Fusion - Identify opportunities for new products and features through strategic customer engagement - Collaborate with product managers and tech leads to improve Cognite's SaaS offering This role blends consulting, architecture, and product development in a cross-functional team environment focused on supporting colleagues and fostering shared learning. REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years of experience as an application/data engineer, solutions architect, enterprise architect, or machine learning engineer - Degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or related quantitative field, or equivalent demonstrated experience - Hands-on expertise in Python and strong knowledge of software development best practices - Experience with enterprise integration, customer relationships, or IT integration design - Data and analytics project experience with ability to confidently lead implementations - Experience with public cloud platforms (preferably AWS, GCP, or Azure), including network security concepts, identity providers, and application hosting - Experience with operations including support, change control, and architecting centralized monitoring, logging, and reporting - DevOps mindset with experience in Git, CI/CD, and deployment environments - Architectural skills in data modeling and infrastructure solutions (data warehousing, big data architectures) - Experience from heavy asset industries (Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals) is required - Experience with operational data and customer business drivers in heavy asset industries - Consulting experience enabling confident negotiation of requirements with customers and colleagues
