Osmo is a digital olfaction company developing AI-powered technology to give computers a sense of smell, with applications across fragrance, manufacturing, security, medicine, and other industries. The company is headquartered in Elizabeth, NJ with an office in Somerville, MA. You will join as a Technical Product Manager to lead Osmo's internal software and tooling initiatives as the company scales. This is a hands-on product role focused on scoping, requirements definition, and delivery negotiation—not program management. You'll work independently from day one, partnering closely with the CTO's engineering team. Your first mandate is to identify and prioritize the 3-5 internal tools that would drive 80% of workflow impact, embed with relevant teams to deeply understand their problems, and deliver clear requirements that engineering can build against. You'll move fluidly across workstreams as priorities shift, applying the same core PM skill set to new domains. Key responsibilities include: independently scoping projects end-to-end with clear business value and customer need; negotiating scope and estimates with engineering, pushing back with specifics when estimates don't align; identifying high-impact internal tooling opportunities and sequencing builds; rapidly embedding in workstreams to master problems; partnering directly with engineering to deliver against committed dates; operating without a detailed script to bring clarity from ambiguity; managing initiatives with structure but without unnecessary bureaucracy; and leveraging AI tools in your own work for requirements drafting, dependency tracking, and communication. Success in the first 6-12 months means independently scoping, writing requirements for, and negotiating delivery of projects end-to-end with minimal oversight; co-developing the vision for where Osmo is heading; and building leading-edge capabilities into scalable, repeatable products including internal tooling to unify systems. QUALIFICATIONS: - Mid-to-senior level generalist with PM best practices; skills are fungible and you're comfortable being reassigned to different problem spaces - Hands-on experience collaborating directly with engineering teams; ability to question estimates and land on realistic scope - Sustained experience writing requirements documents as a core part of a prior role (not one-off) - Comfortable operating in ambiguity; can take loosely defined problems and high-level direction and figure out the rest - Clear, confident communicator who can bridge business needs and engineering constraints; comfortable pushing back on senior stakeholders when timelines, scope, or resources don't add up - Fluency with modern AI tools (LLMs, automation platforms, workflow builders) with a track record of using them in your own work - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Standout qualities: thrive in ambiguity and build your way out of it; experience working alongside deep technical or scientific teams (ML, hardware, R&D); track record pivoting across genuinely different product domains within the same company; experience at small, fast-moving companies where you built process rather than inheriting it; ability to drive alignment and delivery in flat orgs through credibility; prior experience scoping and delivering internal tooling or workflow improvements that measurably reduced manual work or fixed information flow.
