Pickle Robot is automating global supply chains with Physical AI, deploying robots to handle warehouse logistics tasks like truck unloading—work that is physically demanding and chronically understaffed. The company is building toward a generalized Dill Autonomy Engine to orchestrate robots across entire logistics workflows.
You will own a core technical challenge: determining what a robot should grasp and how to grasp it. This problem sits at the intersection of classical robotics and cutting-edge neural networks. You'll be a senior technical leader on a small team (two people), responsible for setting the technical direction rather than executing a predetermined approach.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in both ML systems and real robot platforms. You'll work on problems that are technically sophisticated and grounded in practical, real-world constraints. You'll have autonomy to evaluate competing approaches, make architectural decisions, and drive the research direction forward. The work combines perception, control, and learning in a domain where theory meets hardware constraints daily.
You should be comfortable moving between high-level strategy (what approach should we pursue?) and implementation details (debugging why the network isn't generalizing). This is a technical leadership role without people management—your impact comes through technical depth, judgment, and the ability to unblock a small team working on one of the company's hardest problems.
