Lyric is an enterprise AI platform built specifically for supply chain optimization. The company works with Fortune 500 organizations like Smurfit WestRock, Estée Lauder, and Coca-Cola to solve complex supply chain decisions at scale. As an OR Scientist / Algorithms Engineer, you will formulate real supply chain problems—inventory allocation, network design, routing, planning, and capacity—into optimization models (LP/MIP, network flow, heuristics, simulation) and ship them as production-grade software. You'll own well-scoped pieces of larger problems under senior scientist guidance, with a clear growth path to Senior, Lead, and Principal roles. Key responsibilities include: - Formulating supply chain decisions as mathematical optimization models, stating and defending assumptions - Diagnosing and improving slow or infeasible models through tightened formulations, valid inequalities, warm starts, decomposition, or heuristics - Writing clean, tested, production-grade Python against solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools via Pyomo/JuMP) - Using AI/LLM tooling critically as both a build accelerator and product component - Connecting every model back to business impact (service levels, lead times, plan stability) - Explaining formulations, trade-offs, and results to technical and non-technical audiences Required qualifications: hands-on experience formulating and solving real optimization problems beyond coursework; professional Python software engineering practice (version control, testing, code review); exposure to commercial or open-source solvers via modeling layers; critical posture toward AI/LLM coding tools. Preferred: prior supply chain or operational-decision domain experience; track record of work at real scale with meaningful volumes; shipping production systems others depend on; self-initiated end-to-end projects.
