As a Software Engineer III, you will help build and evolve product capabilities for HackerOne's CTEM platform, improving workflows for Product Security Analysts and the security researcher community. You will work closely with engineers, Product Managers, and Designers, collaborating with the Pune-based Customer Operations team and global colleagues to turn customer and user problems into reliable product experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building, testing, shipping, and maintaining highly available, performant, and durable product features for the CTEM platform, with focus on simplifying workflows for Product Security Analysts, security researchers, and customers
- Owning meaningful features and components through the full software development lifecycle, working with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, manage dependencies, and deliver against roadmap priorities
- Applying first principles problem-solving to understand root causes and develop simple, maintainable solutions
- Bringing an AI-native mindset to engineering by using AI-enabled development tools and contributing to AI-assisted product capabilities
- Using data-driven decision-making to validate feature performance and guide iteration
- Demonstrating change agility as product priorities and technologies evolve
- Contributing to engineering platform quality through code reviews, testing, observability, documentation, and reliability improvements
- Collaborating openly with engineers across levels, sharing knowledge and supporting less-experienced engineers
The role is based in Pune, India, with an expectation of working onsite 3-4 days per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience, including building and delivering production software in modern SaaS or web application environments
- Proficiency in a dynamically typed, object-oriented programming language (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, or similar) with practical SQL and relational database experience; willingness to learn Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL
- Experience building modern web applications using front-end technologies (ReactJS or comparable frameworks) and working with cloud platforms (AWS or similar)
- Experience contributing to features or technical projects through multiple stages of the software development lifecycle (implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, ongoing improvement)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, and Amazon Web Services
- Experience building products or workflows for security professionals, analysts, technical operations teams, developers, communities, or other technical users
- Exposure to Python and AI application technologies (LangChain, Langfuse, retrieval/RAG, tool use, workflow orchestration, human-in-the-loop systems, LLM-powered features); ability and willingness to learn these technologies
- Experience using AI-enabled development tools or familiarity with evaluating AI-assisted product experiences
