As a Software Engineer III, you'll join the Engineering team tackling hard technical problems that matter. Garner's systems analyze billions of medical records to rank healthcare providers across the country. The team operates on AWS and Kubernetes, constantly introducing new technologies as system load doubles annually. The company is aggressively embracing AI across all operations.
You will use AI to build, optimize, and maintain software systems that power healthcare provider ranking and member steering. You'll collaborate across disciplines to understand the healthcare domain and iterate on projects. You'll protect user privacy and security through best practices, with particular attention to HIPAA compliance.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of software engineering experience, especially with distributed event-driven architectures. You should have a generalist mindset ready to learn new languages, frameworks, and techniques in a fast-paced startup environment. Familiarity with data security and HIPAA compliance is expected. You'll thrive in a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, strong individual accountability, and commitment to authentic feedback.
The role is based in the New York City office (Financial District) with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days per week in-office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). The tech stack includes Claude Code, Kubernetes, AWS, Airflow, dlt, dbt, Python, TypeScript, React, and Go.
