Chime is seeking a full-stack Software Engineer to join the Growth Engineering team, focused on building product experiences that drive business metrics and help millions achieve financial progress. You'll work across the entire stack—React and TypeScript on the front end, Rails and Go services on the backend—to build features that drive member growth and engagement.
In this role, you will build and ship growth-focused consumer features end-to-end, from user interfaces to backend services and A/B testing infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, data science, marketing, and analytics teams to identify member pain points and opportunities. Your work will involve rapidly prototyping and launching experiments, iterating on ideas that improve activation, conversion, and engagement metrics.
You'll analyze feature performance post-launch to inform future iterations and growth strategies, applying a metrics-driven mindset to prioritization and decision-making. The role also includes improving reliability, scalability, and performance across the stack—from page load and funnel conversion on the client side to latency and throughput in backend services. You'll contribute to technical excellence through mentorship, code reviews, and driving best practices.
Required qualifications include 2+ years of experience building scalable software in production environments, proven expertise with modern front-end frameworks (React or comparable) and server-side frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Go, or comparable), and experience designing APIs and working with transactional databases, caching, and client-side state management. You should be comfortable owning features across the full stack, have a product mindset with strong bias toward experimentation and measuring impact, and appreciate large-scale architecture patterns and clean, maintainable code.
