As a Software Engineer, Generative AI, you will design and develop secure, scalable generative AI services and applications that empower enterprises to safely adopt superintelligence. You'll work on the core platform that drives measurable impact—for example, in CPG alone, Writer's AI adoption is driving 69% revenue increases and 72% cost reductions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop robust, secure, and scalable generative AI services using Python and modern frameworks
- Build and optimize high-performance, low-latency APIs and microservices to integrate advanced AI models and agentic workflows
- Make meaningful system design decisions and own the architecture of core platform components from proposal through production deployment
- Implement responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScript
- Drive proactive communication and collaboration with product managers, data scientists, and DevOps engineers
- Partner with DevOps teams to build continuous deployment, logging, and monitoring systems ensuring top-tier performance and security
This is a hybrid role based in London (with flexibility to work from San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle hubs). You'll report to an engineering director or senior engineering manager. The role is open at multiple levels from senior to staff software engineer, with compensation scaled to experience.
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer with strong Python development in production environments
- Proven expertise building and deploying generative AI applications, leveraging LLMs, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector), and modern open-source agentic frameworks
- Practical experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid grasp of modern web technologies: FastAPI, Asyncio, PostgreSQL, and AI developer tooling (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
- Exposure to enterprise architecture including IAM, SSO, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, RBAC, security best practices, and enterprise administration/billing systems
- Collaborative mindset with ability to mentor other engineers, drive innovation on complex technical challenges, and take full accountability for delivering high-quality, resilient, scalable code from conception to production
