As a Software Engineer on the Fraud & Risk team, you will be a key contributor responsible for building and evolving products that generate fraud signals and process identity data at scale within a big data infrastructure. Reporting to the Lead Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance systems that improve platform reliability and scalability while collaborating cross-functionally with Product, DevOps, QA, and other engineers. Key responsibilities include: - Design and develop high-quality, scalable, maintainable software solutions as part of a high-performing engineering team - Partner with Product, DevOps, QA, and peers to translate complex business requirements into well-defined technical tasks - Support robust, reusable architecture design and guide implementation from concept through deployment - Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and collaborative problem-solving - Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and best practices - Identify and proactively address technical debt, scalability challenges, and performance bottlenecks - Participate in and influence long-term technical strategy and system design decisions - Drive a culture of quality through testing, automation, and continuous integration - Leverage AI-assisted tooling to efficiently draft, refactor, and review code You bring 5+ years of enterprise software engineering experience with deep expertise in C#/.NET or Java/Spring Boot. You have strong experience with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL databases, microservice and distributed systems architectures, and front-end frameworks (React, Bootstrap, Material UI). You excel at designing scalable, performant systems in production environments, have solid knowledge of network protocols, security standards, and best practices, and are comfortable with agile methodologies in fast-paced settings. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required. Trulioo is headquartered in Vancouver with strategic hubs in San Diego and Dublin. The role is full-time, permanent, and hybrid (3 days per week in the Vancouver office).
