Credal is building an AI platform for enterprise customers including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, MongoDB, Comcast NBC Universal, and others. The company has raised over $10M and operates with strong runway, backed by a team of engineers from Palantir, Cruise, Meta, Uber, and Google.
You will join as a founding full-stack software engineer to help scale Credal's architecture and product as it onboards more enterprise customers. This is a high-ownership role where you'll work across the entire stack and directly influence the company's technical direction.
Key responsibilities:
- Own aspects of stability, scalability, and security as the platform grows and onboards new customers
- Ensure reliable syncing of billions of records from customer SaaS tools into the data platform
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions, establishing code and product quality standards
- Engage directly with customers and the GTM team to solve complex, bleeding-edge problems
- Mentor junior engineers and raise the bar for engineering excellence across the team
- Take end-to-end ownership of core products built on React, TypeScript, NextJS, Tailwind (frontend); TypeScript, Temporal, NextJS, PostgreSQL (backend); OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, Gemini, Milvus/QDrant/MongoDB (AI/ML); and AWS, Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes (cloud infrastructure)
The role emphasizes working across the full stack, with particular value placed on strong software engineering fundamentals, architectural thinking, and the ability to mentor and scale engineering practices. You'll be customer-focused, comfortable with ambiguity, and driven to solve problems others consider impossible.
Credal is in-person at their Brooklyn headquarters with meals provided. The company has 13 team members (9 engineers), 7-figure ARR, and >100% net revenue retention.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years building high-quality software, ideally in excellent engineering cultures
- Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to reason about architecture, abstractions, performance, reliability, and complexity
- Comfortable working across TypeScript, GraphQL, MongoDB, and Vue (experience with Credal's exact stack is helpful but not required)
- Experience helping engineering teams scale through code, abstractions, systems, tools, and processes
- Interest in Agentic AI and LLM applications (experience with MCP or building AI agents is a plus but not required)
