Hook is a social music platform enabling fans to legally remix, mashup, and reimagine songs, then share creations with the world. The company works with artists, labels, and rights holders to transform passive listening into active participation.
As Social Media Lead, you'll own Hook's voice and presence across all platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, emerging channels). You'll develop comprehensive content strategy aligned with brand and product marketing narratives, building editorial calendars around cultural moments, holidays, and key music industry events (releases, tours, award shows).
Key responsibilities include: developing and executing end-to-end social content strategy; writing sharp, culturally fluent copy across all platforms and setting copy standards; leading influencer and creator sourcing, negotiation, briefing, and management; driving UGC campaigns that amplify fan-made content; managing artist and label partnership activations with industry partners; overseeing external agencies and creative collaborators for content creation and media buying; supporting influencer campaigns with budget allocation and reporting; setting community management playbooks for DMs, comments, and trend-flagging; mentoring a social media coordinator; planning integrated campaigns around product launches; defining success metrics, building reporting dashboards, and using data to optimize strategy; and art-directing content with a strong creative eye.
You'll need 3-5 years in social media with proven experience leading strategy and executing it—you've grown brand channels directly, not just managed presentations. You're an exceptional copywriter with distinctive voice and range from unhinged TikTok captions to polished partner announcements. Deep, lived fluency in music and internet culture is essential; you understand why remixes chart and which fandoms drive trends. Proven experience managing influencer/creator programs and external agencies (content and media buying) with budget responsibility is required. Strong community management experience (DMs, comments, fan moments) with good judgment about when to engage is critical. You have strong project management skills to run multiple complex workstreams across internal teams, agencies, and partners. Comfort reading platform analytics, reporting clearly, and tying social work to business outcomes is necessary. You're a manager or manager-in-the-making who can develop junior talent.
Bonus experience includes work at record labels, DSPs, music-tech companies, or directly with artists; existing relationships with music creators, influencer agencies, or label partnership teams; hands-on content creation skills (short-form video editing, design, on-camera presence); or experience at early-stage or high-growth consumer apps.
This is a lead role with real room to grow. As Hook scales, you'll build out the social and community team, with a path toward Head of Social or broader marketing leadership.
