Pencil is an advertising technology company building a generative AI-powered SaaS platform for content creation. The platform aims to democratize AI-assisted advertising for small businesses and creative individuals, not just enterprise brands. You will own Pencil's complete social media and community strategy, reporting to the Head of Marketing. This is a hands-on role that bridges social discovery with community engagement, turning community wins into social content and social interest into community sign-ups. Key responsibilities include: - Social Strategy & Publishing: Manage Pencil's social calendar across LinkedIn (4-5 posts weekly), Instagram, X, and YouTube. Plan, write, publish, and report on performance. Oversee the Community Manager's day-to-day social tasks including scheduling and measurement. - Executive Social: Manage LinkedIn content for the CEO and COO, drafting posts in their voice, coordinating approvals, and tracking performance. - Community Management: Own the community calendar and oversee the Learning Community Manager. Welcome new members, moderate discussions, coordinate webinars and product demos. - Content Production: Brief designers on visuals and video, provide fast feedback to ensure on-time, on-brand delivery. - Measurement & Analytics: Track engagement, follower growth, community activity, and sign-ups. Report monthly on performance and recommend changes. - Listening & Triage: Monitor comments, mentions, and DMs across channels; route product questions and leads to appropriate teams. Success metrics include maintaining social and community cadence in the first 30 days, trending engagement upward and establishing community event rhythm by day 90, and demonstrating measurable pipeline contribution through sign-ups and inbound interest. Required qualifications: 3+ years in social media, community management, or both (ideally B2B SaaS or martech). Excellent written English with ability to write in brand voice and executive voice. Hands-on LinkedIn expertise. Experience running online communities (Circle, Slack, Discord, etc.) including moderation and member growth. Comfort with analytics and data-driven decision-making. Organized, self-directed approach to multi-channel calendar management. Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI marketing tools, experience with HubSpot, Webflow, Figma, or basic video editing.
