Cape is America's privacy-first mobile carrier, founded in 2022 with a mission to make privacy a fundamental right. The company has built its own network infrastructure from the ground up to deliver privacy and security features unavailable from legacy carriers. Cape serves consumers, businesses, and government agencies and recently closed a Series C funding round in March 2026. You will own and grow Cape's social media presence across all channels as a Social Media Associate. This is a high-ownership role for someone who is a sharp, distinctive writer first, with ambitions to grow social channels rather than maintain them. You'll have real input into how Cape shows up in the world and will not simply execute a pre-designed content calendar. Key responsibilities include: - Own social copywriting, editing, and posting end-to-end across all platforms - Develop and evolve Cape's brand voice to be recognizable and differentiated from typical security/privacy brand accounts - Copy edit and upload blog posts - Write and edit email marketing copy; format and build out email flows and sequences - Proofread all content to ensure nothing goes out with typos or off-brand language - Help identify and shape opportunities for Cape to weigh in on public privacy conversations - Translate technical and product features into compelling narratives for social and video content - Handle light operational tasks such as ordering business cards and conference materials - Reply to inbound email inquiries with accurate product knowledge Success metrics include: meaningful growth in social following and engagement with a recognizable voice; content that gets cited, shared, or referenced in broader privacy conversations; reporters and researchers viewing Cape as a credible source; smoothly running email flows with consistently high copy quality; and building systems (calendars, trackers, briefs) that scale the function beyond just you. Cape operates with a flat structure and high trust. You'll collaborate with world-class engineers, architects, and visionaries across organizational lines to solve complex problems and deliver mission-critical results. REQUIREMENTS: - Excellent, distinctive writing ability - Strong organizational skills: comfortable building and maintaining spreadsheet trackers to manage projects and content calendars - High attention to detail - Creative instincts and ability to pitch ideas, not just execute - Bonus: Video filming and editing experience - Bonus: Portfolio of past work - Bonus: Interest in or familiarity with privacy, security, or tech policy conversations
