You will lead Halter's global communications and engagement strategy, reporting to the Senior Director of External Relations. This role involves setting and delivering comprehensive strategic communications across all markets where Halter operates, working closely with a global team of strategic communications managers and the broader strategic relations team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive engagement and communication strategies aligned with Halter's mission, operating principles, and growth strategy. You will ensure core messaging is consistent across internal and external channels while tailoring communications for different markets.
- Building and leveraging media relationships across key markets, developing compelling stories, and executing strategic media pitching. You will combine deep media expertise with authentic brand understanding to ensure Halter shows up authentically.
- Managing issues and crises with calm, strategic thinking under pressure. You will prioritize communications to support customers and protect Halter's reputation while engaging effectively with external stakeholders.
- Championing thought leadership initiatives that position Halter as an industry innovator through traditional and digital channels. You will oversee major announcements, strategic campaigns, and critical communications initiatives.
- Leading a global team of strategic communications managers, providing direction, mentoring, and guidance.
- Collaborating with the executive team to integrate communications strategies into broader business objectives.
- Developing documents and presentations for external stakeholders on complex topics, including government submissions and policy engagement.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10 years of experience in senior strategic communications roles. Experience in government relations and/or the farming industry is a bonus.
- Proven track record developing and delivering successful strategic communications campaigns, including key messaging development, storytelling, and narrative sharing across multiple channels.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt communications for different audiences and communication styles.
- Experience managing communications around complex technical or regulatory topics.
- Deep understanding of media landscapes and strategic stakeholder engagement.
- Strong ability to build and strengthen professional networks and relationships.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to convey complex technical topics with clarity and confidence.
- Excellent listening skills and high-quality written and verbal communication abilities.
- Natural ability to build rapport and trust; experience influencing senior stakeholders at executive or senior political levels.
- Proven track record of self-directed, proactive, and resourceful work delivery.
