Wrapbook is an AI-powered production finance platform trusted by Netflix, Paramount, and other major studios. The Senior Union Paymaster I processes and reviews complex union payrolls for feature films, TV, and commercials, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery within SLA timelines. In this role, you will interpret and apply complex collective bargaining agreements (SAG-AFTRA, DGA, IATSE, Teamsters, etc.), side letters, and union rules across multiple production types. You'll serve as an escalation point for complex payroll scenarios, helping team members reason through edge cases while knowing when to involve Labor Relations or other partners for formal interpretation. Key responsibilities include manually reviewing and validating payroll calculations, identifying and correcting discrepancies, maintaining clear documentation of decisions and rationale, and proactively communicating with customers and internal partners to resolve issues quickly. You'll mentor and support other Union Paymasters, sharing expertise and modeling strong documentation and communication practices. Beyond individual payroll processing, you'll identify recurring issues and process gaps, recommend improvements, and help implement solutions. You'll create and update standard operating procedures and knowledge documentation that reflect current processes and operational learnings. Strong cross-functional collaboration with Labor Relations, Customer Success, Payroll Ops, Tax Ops, Product/Engineering, and other teams is essential to reduce repeat work and strengthen the union payroll operating model. You'll need minimum 5+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-union environment, advanced ability to interpret union rules and collective bargaining agreements in production payroll contexts, and strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation discipline, basic spreadsheet skills (Excel/Sheets), and comfort learning new systems quickly are required. Schedule flexibility to accommodate workload and client needs is necessary. Experience mentoring peers, improving workflows, and operating in scaling operations environments is preferred.
