You'll join the Design Systems team as a Senior UI Designer, responsible for elevating the visual quality, consistency, and craft of the Tide app. This is a specialized UI-focused role within a broader design organization, where you'll drive the visual evolution of the product while collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and brand partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evolving the visual language, components, and patterns within the design system
- Refining color palette, typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy to create a polished, modern experience
- Identifying high-impact UI improvement opportunities across the app that enhance intuitiveness, modernity, and brand perception
- Leading UI-focused initiatives that strengthen how members perceive Tide through the product
- Creating compelling visual concepts and prototypes that communicate design thinking
- Building narratives around design decisions to influence stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Brand, and Design
- Balancing aesthetic excellence with usability, accessibility, and technical feasibility
- Championing high standards of visual craft through design reviews and collaboration
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in visual design, graphic design, UI design, or related field with a strong portfolio
- Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent)
- Experience working in or with design systems
- Exceptional UI design skills with keen eye for detail, composition, and aesthetics
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to advocate for design decisions
- Experience with design documentation (Storybook, Zeroheight)
- Ability to collaborate effectively in agile, cross-functional environments
Preferred qualifications:
- Understanding of HTML/CSS and front-end frameworks
- Experience with motion design and prototyping tools (After Effects, Principle)
- Familiarity with AI-powered design tools
- Leadership qualities and mentoring experience
