Shield AI is seeking a Senior Technician, Unmanned System Test Operator to lead day-to-day flight test operations for the Hivemind autonomy portfolio. This role is responsible for executing surrogate flight tests, aircraft preparation, system configuration, and field operations that support autonomy validation and integration.
As the primary operator and technical lead for Group 1/2 UAS test assets, you will ensure aircraft, payloads, ground control systems, and supporting equipment are mission-ready and operated in accordance with established procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards. You will conduct hands-on flight activities and provide operational support across laboratory, ground, and flight test environments.
This position works closely with software, systems, and flight operations teams to support the integration, validation, and operational assessment of autonomy capabilities. You will be responsible for maintaining technical documentation, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring all test operations meet safety and regulatory compliance standards.
