Beacon AI is building an AI platform to make flying safer, more efficient, and more capable. The company is backed by top investors, has secured a dozen Department of Defense contracts, and partners with major airlines to deliver mission-critical systems.
You'll own the technical hiring strategy and execution for Murdock, Beacon's in-cockpit AI assistant, with a focus on recruiting engineers for real-time, safety-critical, product-focused environments. Your primary focus areas include iOS, machine learning, robotics, and autonomy-leaning skillsets.
Key responsibilities:
- Own technical hiring strategy and execution for Murdock-related engineering roles, with preference for candidates experienced in robotics, aerospace, or defense recruiting
- Partner closely with engineering leaders to refine role requirements, calibrate on candidates, and align on hiring decisions
- Source, screen, and assess candidates; build an intentional pipeline of exceptional talent
- Synthesize interview feedback and make clear hiring recommendations; establish fair, efficient, and effective processes
- Optimize workflows and candidate experiences in partnership with recruiting operations
- Represent Beacon to candidates and help close exceptional talent in a competitive market
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of technical recruiting experience, ideally in early-stage or fast-growing startups
- Previous experience recruiting iOS, robotics, autonomy, embedded, or safety-critical technical profiles
- Demonstrated ability to source and evaluate high-quality technical candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and other platforms
- Strong track record hiring technical talent across experience levels
- Experience recruiting for product engineering roles where reliability, ownership, and product judgment matter
- Strong relationship-building skills, good judgment, comfort pushing back, and ability to influence senior stakeholders
Bonus: founding or early technical recruiting hire experience, hands-on Ashby ATS experience, or interest in aviation/mission-critical software.
This is a hybrid role based in San Carlos, CA, requiring 3+ days per week onsite. Full-time benefits include 100% employee medical premium coverage, 3 weeks PTO plus 13+ paid holidays, phone and wellness stipends, and 401(k).
