Varda Space Industries is building commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing systems, reentry capsules, and satellite buses. The company is accelerating the orbital economy by creating both products and infrastructure for space-based manufacturing.
As Senior Technical Recruiter, you will own end-to-end recruiting across key engineering disciplines including software, avionics, propulsion, thermal, structures, and manufacturing. This is an execution-focused role where you'll spend the majority of your time in the market generating pipeline and running searches as Varda scales production.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage 4–8 active searches simultaneously, maintaining full pipeline momentum
- Proactively source engineering talent through multiple channels: active outreach, referrals, and passive candidate generation
- Conduct recruiter screens to assess engineering fundamentals, systems thinking, and hardware integration experience
- Partner with hiring managers to refine job descriptions and candidate profiles
- Move candidates through the interview process efficiently, from initial screen through offer
- Build and maintain a network of aerospace and advanced manufacturing talent
- Contribute to recruiting strategy and process improvements as the team grows
You'll work with a team of veterans from SpaceX, Blue Origin, major pharmaceutical companies, and Silicon Valley. Varda is headquartered in El Segundo with additional offices in Washington, DC and Huntsville, AL. The company was founded in 2021 and is backed by top-tier investors including Khosla Ventures, Lux Capital, and Founders Fund.
