Going is hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform team, which operates as an internal platform business. Your product is a unified stream of flight data; your customers are internal product and feature teams; your end-users are millions of subscribers relying on Going for timely, hyper-relevant flight deals. You will own the charter and roadmap for how Going acquires, pipelines, and engineers high-quality datasets powering the core product. This requires building resilience and diversification to reduce dependence on single data sources, and turning data into a product that downstream teams can build on without re-solving problems themselves. You'll report to the VP of Product and lead a cross-functional team of senior Data and Backend Engineers. In the short term, you will take ownership of product data acquisition strategy and data processing roadmap, supporting the build of a new system to replace the current architecture. You'll establish baseline measurement across the data funnel—coverage, pipeline health, and data quality—so future architecture and business decisions are based on value and cost. You'll drive architecture that enables efficiency through a single-record architecture that's durable and observable. You'll make data usable, not just available, pushing toward a dynamic system that learns and adapts based on market trends and real consumer demand. You'll serve internal customers so downstream teams have one trusted source to build against. Long-term, you'll build Going's data acquisition strategy—diversified, cost-efficient, and resilient to vendor disruption. You'll turn the data caching and curation layer into a plug-and-play foundation that can onboard any future data source. You'll make the data platform the compounding advantage behind Going's product—the thing every team builds on. Required: 5–8+ years of product management experience with significant time owning data platform, data infrastructure, or data products. Systems & Data Fluency: comfort reading API specs, writing SQL, working with complex JSON/XML schemas, and discussing architecture (ETL/ELT pipelines, caching strategies, data lineage and provenance, metadata management) with senior engineers as peers. Exposure to data quality, normalization, or golden dataset patterns. Experience establishing measurement baselines before re-architecting. Comfortable owning vendor/supplier relationships and contract negotiation, including cost-vs-coverage tradeoffs. Track record navigating ambiguity while shipping durable, well-governed systems. Clear, async-first communicator comfortable setting direction for a dedicated engineering team while working across technical and non-technical partners. Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work US hours. Preferred: Travel/aviation data expertise (GDS feeds, OAG/Cirium APIs, fare buckets and cabin mapping, IATA/ICAO codes). Prior experience designing internal data products or operating within a Data Mesh architecture. Experience with event-driven architectures, low-latency edge caching, and scaling systems for real-time demand spikes.
