GitLab is seeking a Senior Team Member Relations Partner to guide managers through complex workplace matters across its global organization. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Team Member Relations Director, working with high autonomy on sensitive and higher-risk matters. Key responsibilities include leading sensitive investigations from intake through resolution, including interviewing team members, analyzing internal data, writing investigation reports, and recommending next steps. You'll coach and advise leaders on complex team member relations issues, including performance management, while helping them manage business and organizational risk. You'll support proactive programs designed to prevent workplace issues before they escalate. You'll partner closely with Legal and People Business Partners to review and assess team member relations cases, add context, and support consistent decision-making. As GitLab scales, you'll help develop, apply, and revise policies, reviewing procedures and initiatives for alignment with applicable requirements and company values. You'll analyze case trends and share insights with stakeholders to inform programs, policies, and risk-reduction strategies. Additionally, you'll contribute to team member relations and organization-wide initiatives in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, and support global governance of policies and practices by interpreting employment laws and regulations across jurisdictions. Required qualifications include progressive employee or team member relations experience, including leading complex, multi-party workplace investigations. You need working knowledge of US employment law (FMLA, ADA, Title VII, EEOC processes) and experience in distributed, multi-jurisdiction, or global organizations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, confidentiality, discretion, and empathy are essential. You should demonstrate ability to influence change without direct authority, strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and business judgment. An SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification is preferred but not required.
