StockX is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Finance team and support the company's expanding global business. The role focuses on U.S. sales and use tax compliance, indirect tax management, and tax accounting across multiple jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining indirect tax filings and supporting workpapers for U.S. jurisdictions; managing sales and use tax account reconciliations and month-end close support; assisting with annual financial statement processes including reconciliations and journal entries; and managing indirect tax audits, notices, and controversy matters by gathering documentation, performing analysis, and coordinating responses.
You will monitor state and local tax legislation for changes relevant to StockX, research impacts, and drive implementation of necessary updates. The role involves researching and analyzing domestic indirect tax implications of new business initiatives to mitigate tax exposure, and partnering cross-functionally with business teams to support implementation of tax requirements for new products and processes.
Additional duties include supporting tax engine and systems testing, proactively monitoring accuracy of tax charges and system-calculated results, identifying discrepancies through analysis and reconciliation, and assisting with registrations, annual compliance requirements, and ad hoc requests from business partners and external advisors.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant tax experience in a corporate environment (public accounting experience is a plus), strong understanding of multi-state sales and use tax regulations, experience with tax account reconciliations and workpapers, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. Nice-to-have skills include public accounting experience, familiarity with Avalara or similar indirect tax platforms, Power BI experience, and CPA or equivalent license.
