CuspAI is a frontier AI company focused on discovering breakthrough materials to solve critical challenges in energy, clean water, computing, and carbon capture. The company recently closed a $100M Series A and is scaling rapidly with a founding team of world-class AI, chemistry, and engineering researchers.
As Senior Talent Partner, you will own end-to-end recruitment for CuspAI's technical and business development functions. You'll be a core member of the small but growing People team, responsible for identifying, attracting, and engaging elite technical talent including software engineers, researchers, applied scientists, and technical partnerships specialists.
Key responsibilities include:
• Execute full-cycle technical recruitment across diverse roles, from PhDs in materials science to business development professionals, sourcing from AI labs, science-first companies, and academic institutions.
• Partner strategically with hiring teams to design compelling job descriptions, define role requirements, create assessment criteria, and build efficient interview processes.
• Conduct interviewer calibration sessions to ensure alignment on evaluation focus areas and assist in developing interview questions and assessment tasks.
• Provide data-driven market insights on compensation, talent availability, and hiring trends within deep tech and AI for materials science.
• Collaborate with the people team to advance DEIB initiatives in hiring, identifying process improvements and building diverse talent pipelines.
• Deliver high-touch candidate experience that reflects company values, ensuring every applicant—hired or not—becomes an advocate.
• Maintain rigorous ATS data hygiene, create accurate hiring dashboards, and ensure data-driven hiring decisions.
• Establish and uphold service levels for critical tasks: application review, referral responses, screening calls, interview scheduling, feedback documentation, and stakeholder updates.
You'll need 10+ years of hands-on experience recruiting high-level technical partnerships or scientific business development professionals for research-oriented organizations. Ideally, you've worked in fast-paced full-cycle recruitment at startups or scale-ups, thrive in ambiguity, and can build processes from scratch. You're curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable with data-driven decision-making.
