Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the Pre-Sales team based in Mumbai to support enterprise and commercial customers across Western India. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, partnering with Account Managers to understand customer pain points and identify opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct whiteboard network architectural reviews and present Arista's Open Networking Data Centre and Cognitive Campus (including Wi-Fi) solutions
- Present CloudVision (Network Automation), Security (Network Detection & Response), Endpoint Security, and Real-time Fabric Monitoring solutions
- Design and propose Data Centre and Campus network solutions using leaf-spine architectures, VxLAN, and EVPN
- Perform hands-on validation of customer proof-of-concept setups and network deployments
- Develop design guidelines and recommend network improvements
- Respond to RFPs and RFQs in collaboration with the Sales team
- Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams
- Represent Arista at SDN and Open Networking industry events
- Stay current on competitive solutions and products
- Author white papers on technology and products
You will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and work alongside industry experts and technical leaders. Arista's engineering-centric culture emphasizes ownership, flat management structures, and access across all company domains. The company is headquartered in Santa Clara with development offices globally.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BE/BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (required)
- Minimum 10+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience, with focus on Data Centre and Campus networks
- Expert-level expertise in routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols (Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Aruba)
- Demonstrated work experience as Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer (preferred)
- Expert knowledge in three or more of: Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS
- Expert-level knowledge of industry-standard CLI
- Network Industry Certification preferred (e.g., CCIE R&S, JNCIE)
- Previous experience with network overlays (preferred)
- Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) (highly desired)
- Network automation experience using Python and Ansible (desired)
- Knowledge of competitive products and solutions
- Ability to write white papers (a plus)
