Osaro is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own end-to-end system-level performance for robotic deployments in e-commerce logistics. You will be responsible for the entire deployment layer across Osaro's robotic piece-picking systems, ensuring robust, production-grade solutions integrate seamlessly into customers' complex environments.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with Hardware, Infrastructure, and Machine Learning teams to design cell/system workflows and ensure system behavior matches customer requirements and scope of work. You will bridge the gap between solution engineering and customer success teams regarding system behavior and performance, and be accountable for commissioning Osaro cells alongside the deployment team.
Travel to customer sites should be expected, particularly during deployments which can last several weeks. Travel is minimal when not actively deploying.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead development and implementation of deployment layers across systems
- Own end-to-end system behavior and performance
- Bridge gaps between solution, engineering, and customer success on system performance
- Collaborate with deployment teams during cell commissioning
- Work with solution teams to design cell/system flows and verify alignment with customer workflows

The team is international, composed of ML practitioners and dedicated software and hardware engineers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in robotic control development, including:
- Developing and tuning control frameworks for robotic applications
- Trajectory optimization, kinematics, and motion planning for multi-axis robots
- Expertise in Rust or C++ with proven ability in software design, architecture, and developing complex real-time multi-process systems
- Hands-on experience with industrial robotic arms, including direct development with low-level hardware controllers
- In-depth knowledge of robotic system design, integration, debugging, verification, and testing for industrial robotic manipulators in demanding real-time environments
- Background working with robotic sensors (cameras, force sensors, grippers) involving sensor integration, calibration, or real-time data processing
BONUS:
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
- Experience working in Agile development environments
