Forescout is a cybersecurity company protecting critical infrastructure—power grids, hospitals, financial systems, and transportation networks—for Fortune 100 organizations and government agencies. This Senior Systems Engineer role is a pre-sales technical position driving the sales cycle through deep technical expertise and consultative engagement.
You will engage directly with enterprise customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements, then tailor Forescout's solutions to meet those needs. Key responsibilities include:
• Customer Engagement: Work with enterprise customers to understand business challenges and technical requirements, positioning Forescout solutions effectively.
• Solution Design & Demonstrations: Lead solution architecture design, conduct technical workshops, and execute proof-of-concept engagements showcasing Forescout's cybersecurity offerings.
• Sales Support & Strategy: Partner with account teams to identify technical opportunities, develop sales strategies, and support complex deal negotiations.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product management, engineering, marketing, and professional services to ensure customer feedback influences product development and facilitates smooth implementation.
• Technical Evangelism: Represent Forescout at industry events, webinars, and conferences with compelling technical presentations on cybersecurity trends.
• Customer Success Enablement: Provide ongoing technical guidance during post-sale phases to ensure successful deployment and adoption.
You must have deep expertise in network security technologies including Network Access Control (NAC), IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection, vulnerability assessment, MDM, and OT security. Strong knowledge of networking protocols (routing, switching, MPLS, VPN, LAN/WAN, 802.1X, SSL), SIEM technologies, authentication mechanisms (802.1x, RADIUS, LDAP, AD), and hands-on troubleshooting tools (TCPDUMP, Wireshark, NETSTAT, SNMPWALK). Proficiency required in Linux/UNIX, Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and working knowledge of SQL and database security.
This role requires up to 50% travel domestically and internationally.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 7+ years as a Systems Engineer or Senior Systems Engineer in cybersecurity or network security
• Demonstrated success managing and influencing large, complex enterprise sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
• Extensive experience delivering solution presentations, technical workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements to senior technical and business audiences
• Strong background in solution architecture, technical account management, and consultative selling
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex technical information into business value propositions
• Strong collaboration and project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and work independently
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
• Preferred: Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, Security+, CCNP, or CCSP
