Palmetto is a leading clean tech company accelerating the transition to clean energy through innovative software, financial products, and services for whole-home electrification. The Senior Systems Administrator will lead the administration, optimization, and evolution of the company's Core Systems ecosystem, reporting to the Manager of Core Systems.
Key responsibilities include managing SaaS applications (Google Workspace, Tray.io, Atlassian suite, ITSM platforms) from access, configuration, and lifecycle perspectives. You will architect and lead Core Systems projects to improve business operations, design and maintain automation workflows to reduce manual processes in onboarding/offboarding, and own identity and access management processes (SSO, SAML).
The role combines strategic and tactical elements: architecting scalable system integrations using APIs and middleware, supporting ITSM processes including incident and change management, and driving improvements in service delivery. You will partner with Security and Audit teams to support compliance frameworks (SOX, SOC 2), implement automated controls, and maintain system documentation and audit readiness.
A key differentiator is ownership of IT-driven AI initiatives, including AI-powered support workflows, automation of repetitive operational tasks, and intelligent knowledge retrieval systems. You will identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to scale IT operations and improve user experience across the organization.
The role includes mentoring junior staff and acting as a technical leader within the team. This position is ideal for someone combining deep technical expertise with strong project ownership, a cloud-first mindset, and the ability to guide and develop team members.
