Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Quality Engineering Team. This role focuses on precision mechanical parts and intelligence systems, partnering across product development, production, and field operations.
You will define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high-quality and reliable precision machined parts. Key responsibilities include:
• Partner with design teams during product development, providing design-for-manufacturability feedback and generating product data (drawings, BOMs, part requirements) for precision mechanical components.
• Leverage expertise in machining, molding, additive manufacturing, fabrication, special processes, and inspection/measurement to support design processes and manage technical risks from proof-of-concept through volume production scaling.
• Drive supplier quality development throughout product development stages, conducting design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and qualification for components and sub-assemblies.
• Collaborate with development engineering, product quality, sourcing, category management, and program management to ensure predictable supply and manage exceptions, containments, and deviations.
• Develop supplier quality readiness by analyzing key and critical characteristics, developing measurement systems, and executing qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, audits, inspection development).
• Own elimination of supplier risk to improve quality and reliability across the product lifecycle through audits, readiness reviews, training, and documentation.
• Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities, owning containments for purchased goods.
• Conduct supplier audits, lead onsite reviews for contract deliverables, and ensure compliance with customer flow-down requirements.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or similar technical field. Experience producing precision mechanical parts for aerospace or defense. Experience scaling supplier capabilities from prototype through high-rate production. Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 quality management systems. Source inspection experience at mechanical/aerospace/defense suppliers is a plus.
