Relativity Space is building the Terran R rocket to deliver payloads to orbit and advance commercial spaceflight. The Reliability team ensures quality is embedded throughout design, manufacturing, test, and launch operations. As a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer, you'll serve as the technical point of contact for rocket parts and assemblies, resolving manufacturing and quality issues to protect production schedules.
Key responsibilities include leading new product introduction by selecting manufacturing methods, identifying suppliers, and developing scalable processes. You'll conduct design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews and apply APQP principles from early development through production. You'll manage supplier sourcing and evaluations, issue corrective actions, and ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and NASA quality standards. You'll create specifications to communicate quality and manufacturing requirements across the supply base, analyze defect data, and lead root cause investigations using 8D, PPAP, and FAIR methodologies to improve supplier performance.
You'll work directly with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams, staying close to hardware and proactively shaping decisions. This role balances risk management with speed, establishing the right processes and controls as the program scales from development into production. You'll foster a culture of ownership and ensure quality never gets compromised for velocity.
Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or related STEM field with 8+ years of supplier quality or supplier development engineering experience. Preferred: aerospace/defense background, familiarity with 3D printing or advanced manufacturing, and experience with high-reliability production environments.
