Checkr is a data platform powering safe and fair decisions through AI verification. The company serves over 140,000 organizations including Uber, Airbnb, DoorDash, and Anthropic. Checkr is on the Forbes Cloud 100 2025 list and a Y Combinator 2024 Breakthrough Company. The Financial Planning & Strategy (FP&S) team sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and execution, shaping business decisions through deep cross-functional partnerships and strategic analysis. You will own the strategic finance partnership with the VP of Marketing and broader marketing organization, serving as the central hub for investment decisions and ROI measurement in demand generation and brand. You'll also partner with the COO on overall go-to-market investments. This is a high-visibility role with direct executive exposure. Key responsibilities include: - Own the marketing finance partnership as the strategic finance partner to the VP of Marketing and leadership team, embedded enough to anticipate needs while maintaining independence to challenge decisions. - Build and own frameworks for measuring ROAS, channel efficiency, and attribution across paid, brand, and lifecycle channels. Drive evolution toward incrementality testing and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) to understand causal impact. - Own unit economics modeling, reporting, and insights to drive investment decisions and investor relations. - Lead annual and long-range planning for the marketing organization, setting targets, stress-testing investment cases, and building financial narratives for executive confidence. - Develop AI-powered workflows, automated reporting, and intelligence systems to enhance analytical capabilities. - Present findings and recommendations directly to senior leaders with clarity and conviction. - Govern budget management and reporting for the COO's overall budget with analyst support. You bring 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 4 years dedicated to B2B marketing partnerships. Investment banking, private equity, or management consulting backgrounds are strong pluses. You have deep fluency in marketing economics, can build channel ROI models from scratch, and understand the marketing measurement stack (multi-touch attribution, incrementality testing, MMM). Experience across both product-led growth and sales-led motions is essential. You have a track record of driving business outcomes through financial insight, not just reporting. You've built something with AI—a model, automated analysis, or workflow—and see it as core to modern finance operations. You possess expert-level financial modeling skills with strong executive presence and communication clarity. Hands-on experience with marketing analytics tools like HockeyStack and Salesforce is valued.
