Salary: USD 140,000 - 165,000 / annual

As a Senior Strategic Accounts Manager, you will own the retention and growth of Garner's small group market employer clients (25–250 employees). Reporting to the Director of Strategic Accounts, you will serve as a trusted strategic partner on plan design, cost trends, and performance optimization. Your primary responsibilities include: • Retaining and upselling small group employer clients while driving improved Net Revenue Retention and key performance indicators for your book of business • Collaborating with Client Success Managers to ensure clients receive excellent experiences and achieve expected results • Acting as the strategic advisor on plan design, cost-trend management, and plan performance • Establishing and managing key relationships with strategic brokers and clients • Monitoring client health, anticipating needs, and executing proactive plans to mitigate account risks • Partnering with finance, product, data, and technology teams to deliver ROI reports and demonstrate Garner's value The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of experience in a commercially-oriented consultant, broker, account management, or sales role within employee benefits. You have deep knowledge of fully insured and small group self-funded health plan design, proven track records of achieving retention and upsell targets, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment. Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is a commitment to mission-driven work with intense accountability and authentic feedback. The role is remote with occasional travel to NYC headquarters (up to 10% annually). Compensation includes base salary plus commission, with eligibility for bonuses, equity, and competitive benefits including flexible PTO, medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and wellness programs.
