Fabric Health is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to set the technical vision for their healthcare platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on architecting and developing core systems that power their virtual care platform, which unifies the care journey from intake to treatment using intelligent automation.
You will architect and develop the Ruby on Rails backend, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. You'll also develop the React frontend to create seamless experiences for providers and patients. As a technical authority, you'll provide guidance on architectural decisions, elevate code quality, and drive adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
Key responsibilities include collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and clinical experts to translate complex business needs into elegant technical solutions. You'll contribute to the long-term product roadmap and help define the future of the virtual care platform. This role emphasizes hands-on technical contribution and mentoring without direct people management responsibilities.
You should be a seasoned technical leader who excels at bridging high-level strategy with day-to-day coding. Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails is essential, along with proficiency in React or modern JavaScript frameworks. A solid understanding of the healthcare industry and familiarity with current trends and challenges is required. You should have proven experience designing and developing well-tested, secure, and documented software solutions.
Bonus qualifications include experience with conversational agents, real-time race conditions and locking mechanisms, integrations with EHR systems like Epic and Cerner, and a background in computer science. The role requires 8+ years of professional experience in full-stack web application development in cross-functional agile teams.
