Tide is a fintech platform serving over 2 million SMEs globally with business banking, invoicing, and accounting solutions. The company has raised over $300 million and operates across the UK, India, Germany, and France with 2,500+ employees.
You will lead the architecture of Tide's agentic platform, designing the shared capabilities that enable AI systems to operate safely, reliably, and at scale. This is a company-wide technical leadership role focused on building foundational infrastructure for AI agents.
Key responsibilities:
- Define the overall architecture for the agentic platform
- Design shared services including context APIs, tool layers, policy controls, and auditability
- Partner with product, data, security, and engineering teams to translate use cases into reusable platform capabilities
- Establish standards for reliability, safety, scalability, and developer experience
- Provide technical leadership across teams and unblock critical decisions
- Implement cost-management and routing logic to optimize LLM spend across multiple providers
- Design and build automated evaluation pipelines to measure agent reasoning accuracy and safety
Required qualifications:
- Deep experience building platform or infrastructure systems at scale
- Strong judgment across APIs, distributed systems, data, and cloud-native architecture
- Track record of leading complex cross-team technical problems
- Experience integrating third-party platforms while maintaining core architecture control
- Strong understanding of reliability, security, and observability
- Experience in regulated industries (fintech, healthtech) where safety and compliance are critical is valued
- AI platform component experience is valuable but not essential
The role is based in Berlin with hiring across multiple locations including India (Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad), Bulgaria, Serbia, Lithuania, and the UK.
