CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff Communication Systems Engineer to join its Munich office. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.
In this role, you will serve as the technical point of contact for communication programs, leading the development of space architecture concepts and sub-system designs. Key responsibilities include payload design, requirements development and decomposition, high-level software and hardware system architecture design, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk assessment.
You will coordinate activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams, raise program-level issues, and drive complex aerospace programs to successful completion. The position requires strong systems engineering expertise, deep experience in space technology, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and internal stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
This is a hands-on role in a dynamic startup environment focused on developing leading-edge phased array antennas and radios for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with cross-functional collaboration skills and thrives in an interactive, autonomous work setting.
