Salary: USD 67,813 - 89,005 / annual
Oscar Health is hiring a Senior Specialist, Process Improvement to join the Authorization Services Process Improvement team. In this role, you will partner with business and technical teams across Oscar to identify, design, and implement process improvements that drive operational efficiency and support organizational goals.
You will own end-to-end project management responsibilities, including collecting and documenting requirements, building project plans, analyzing data, and translating findings into actionable insights for senior leadership. Your work will span risk identification and issue resolution, cost optimization strategies, change management, and the implementation of repeatable, scalable process improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying risks and resolving issues through investigation to inform short-, medium-, and long-term technology-enabled solutions
- Coordinating projects to meet milestones and service levels
- Partnering with leadership on cost reduction and outcome improvement strategies
- Supporting change management and risk mitigation programs across teams
- Translating data analysis into clear, visually compelling insights
- Providing analytical support to identify opportunities and prioritize projects based on organizational growth targets
- Supporting the implementation of process improvement projects and operational efficiency initiatives
You will report to the Manager, Process Improvements and work independently to represent the team within the broader organization.
Required experience includes 2+ years in project management and process improvement, workflow analysis and optimization, process improvement and workflow design, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership. You should have experience leading and collaborating with team members to drive consensus on decisions.
Bonus qualifications include prior experience in Prior Authorizations or Insurance Operations, familiarity with JIRA/Linear/Slack, ACA marketplace or healthcare claims experience, Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Process Improvement training, and experience with large datasets and data management.
