Salary: USD 67,813 - 89,005 / annual
Oscar Health is hiring a Senior Specialist, Process Improvement to join the Authorization Services Process Improvement team in Tempe, Arizona. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in-office (Thursdays mandatory for team meetings; two other days flexible).
You will partner with business and technical teams across Oscar to identify, document, and drive process improvements that support organizational goals. Your responsibilities include collecting and documenting requirements, building and managing project plans, analyzing data to uncover insights, and supporting the design and optimization of internal processes. You will represent the department's needs in company-wide strategic initiatives, implement scalable tools and techniques, and translate complex data analysis into clear, visually compelling recommendations for senior leadership.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify risks and resolve issues/errors/escalations through investigation, informing short/medium/long-term technology-enabled solutions
- Coordinate projects to meet milestones and service levels
- Partner with leadership on cost reduction and outcome improvement strategies
- Support change management and risk mitigation programs across teams
- Develop analytical insights to identify opportunities and prioritize projects based on organizational growth targets
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and performance
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years supporting end-to-end project management and process improvement initiatives
- 2+ years analyzing workflows to improve efficiency and develop resolution recommendations
- 2+ years in process improvement and workflow design
- 2+ years presenting information and recommendations to senior leadership
- Experience leading and collaborating with team members to reach consensus
Bonus qualifications include prior authorization or insurance operations experience, familiarity with JIRA/Linear/Slack, ACA marketplace or healthcare quality background, Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement training, and experience with large datasets and data management.
