As a Senior Specialist in Employee Relations, you will be a critical extension of Remote's clients' HR teams, managing complex employee lifecycle matters with a focus on legal compliance and exceptional customer service. This role sits within the Lifecycle team, which is responsible for maintaining and elevating HR practices through cutting-edge technology and enhanced customer experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
**Offboarding & Employee Exits:** Manage end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring superior offboarding experiences. Provide expert guidance on terminations, resignations, transfers, employment contracts, and redundancy processes while maintaining strict legal compliance. Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations. Draft and administer all termination documents with precision, maintaining strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
**Employee Relations Support:** Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, identifying key facts and applicable local regulations. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate handling of employee relations matters. Support clients in understanding progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements. Monitor ongoing cases and ensure timely follow-up.
**Cross-functional Collaboration:** Liaise with payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions, and internal teams (Customer Success, Benefits, Time & Attendance) to ensure compliant and prompt administration of employee exits. Process offboarding on Remote's HRIS platform and serve as subject-matter expert on offboarding matters.
**Process Improvement:** Actively identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and product development to enhance customer and employee experiences. Contribute to strategic initiatives aligned with Remote's core values and goals.
You will work with clients across diverse legal jurisdictions, requiring strong knowledge of international employment law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex, sensitive situations with diplomacy and professionalism.
