The Director, People (Employee Relations) leads the enterprise employee relations function across WelbeHealth, serving as a strategic partner to People leadership, Legal, Compliance, and operational leaders. This role owns the employee relations strategy, programs, and operations while managing complex workplace matters and building organizational capability. Key responsibilities include: - Leading the enterprise employee relations function, including investigations, performance management support, conflict resolution, corrective action guidance, and workforce risk mitigation - Developing and executing employee relations strategies, programs, frameworks, and operating models that support organizational effectiveness and positive employee experience - Providing leadership and oversight for complex, sensitive, and high-risk matters involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace misconduct, and policy violations - Overseeing employee relations intake, triage, escalation, case coordination, and operational processes - Providing strategic oversight for supervisor readiness initiatives, training programs, and leader capability development - Partnering with Learning, People Advisors, and operational leaders to strengthen performance management and issue resolution - Analyzing employee relations trends, metrics, and organizational data to identify themes, risks, and improvement opportunities Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, employment law, or related field - Minimum 10 years of progressive experience with significant experience leading complex employee relations functions and workplace investigations - Healthcare industry experience required - Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members - Experience developing and implementing employee relations programs, operational frameworks, and workforce risk strategies - Experience leading high-performing employee relations or HR teams in complex, multi-site organizations - Technical proficiency in personnel policies, especially FMLA, ADA, and California employment and leave laws - Advanced knowledge of employee relations practices, labor/employment law, and workplace conduct principles Preferred qualifications include advanced degree or HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent). Frequent travel within California is required; candidates must be located in California with Los Angeles County highly preferred.
