Aalo Atomics is a clean energy company pioneering factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. Based in Austin, TX, the company is rapidly growing as it works to deploy the world's first fleet of advanced microreactors.
The HR Specialist role serves as a critical operational backbone for the company, ensuring employees and candidates experience seamless onboarding while keeping HR operations and regulatory compliance running at the highest standard. This position is the primary point of contact for employees on HR matters and works closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and execute new hire onboarding activities for Austin-based and remote employees, guiding staff through benefits selections, open enrollment, and plan options.
• Maintain rigorous compliance with federal, Texas state, and local labor regulations, including I-9 document verifications, E-Verify submissions, and recurring HR file audits.
• Maintain digital and physical employee files with high accuracy, confidentiality, and data privacy standards.
• Conduct regular internal audits of personnel files, onboarding documents, and HRIS data to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
• Ensure Austin headquarters workplace compliance, including mandatory federal and Texas labor law postings, record retention schedules, and required notices.
• Proactively identify compliance gaps, streamline administrative workflows, and refine HR documentation and playbooks as the company scales.
• Serve as a dependable resource for routine employee inquiries and HR-related questions.
