The Senior Specialist, Employee Relations role is a critical position within the Lifecycle team, responsible for managing complex employee exits and providing first-level employee relations support to Remote's external clients. Key responsibilities include independently managing end-to-end employee offboarding across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision, ensuring legal compliance and delivering superior customer experiences. The role involves providing expert guidance on termination procedures, resignation handling, employment contracts, redundancy processes, and other HR matters specific to various jurisdictions. You will lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations. The specialist independently handles complex terminations, negotiates positive outcomes across competing stakeholder interests, and manages the full lifecycle of offboarding documentation and HRIS administration. Responsibilities include liaising with internal teams (payroll, legal, benefits, time & attendance) and external stakeholders (government bodies, trade unions, legal counsel) to ensure compliant and timely employee exits. Additionally, you will provide comprehensive employee relations support, conducting preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, guiding clients through progressive discipline and documentation best practices, and serving as a trusted resource for complex cases. The role includes mentoring junior team members and driving process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic goals. This position requires deep knowledge of international employment law, excellent judgment in high-stakes situations, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service across diverse cultural and regulatory contexts.
