Remote is a global HR platform enabling businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly across 80+ countries. The Senior Specialist, Employee Relations role is part of the Lifecycle team and serves as a critical extension of clients' HR operations.
Key responsibilities include managing complex, end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision. The role independently handles offboarding processes, providing sound guidance on terminations, resignations, transfers, employment contracts, and redundancy procedures while ensuring legal compliance and best practices. You will lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and separation negotiations, influencing positive outcomes in complex terminations while navigating multiple stakeholders with competing interests.
Additionally, you will provide first-level employee relations support, conducting preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, identifying applicable local regulations, and guiding clients through progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements. You'll draft, tailor, and administer termination and supplementary documents with precision, maintain employee records with strict adherence to privacy regulations, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, and trade unions.
The role includes process on Remote's HRIS platform, collaboration across Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other internal verticals. You will mentor junior team members, serve as a trusted escalation point, and drive process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic goals. This position requires expertise in navigating complex global employment scenarios with a focus on legal compliance, service excellence, and operational efficiency.
