Salary: USD 148,500 - 222,700 / annual
F5 is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to support the sales organization in North America. This is a hybrid sales and technical role focused on partnering with customers and the sales team to drive adoption of F5's application services solutions.
You will serve as a trusted technical adviser, articulating F5's product strategy and value proposition to customers. Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver technical expertise through sales presentations, solution designs, demonstrations, and proofs of concept (in-person and virtual)
- Mentor and educate sales teams on the value and business drivers of F5 solutions
- Identify technical decision makers, secure their validation and sponsorship, and drive the sales process in partnership with Account Managers
- Determine opportunity viability and map organizational structures
- Provide world-class customer service throughout the customer lifecycle
- Collaborate with internal technical and sales resources to share best practices and expertise
F5's solutions bridge NetOps and DevOps with multi-cloud application services spanning from code to customer, including intelligent load balancing, application acceleration, application security, web serving, caching, and TLS/SSL offload.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer or in solution selling across a multi-product portfolio
- BS/BA degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems) or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of traffic management and load-balancing technologies (F5, Citrix, Riverbed, Kemp, or similar)
- Deep understanding of HTTP, web servers, web applications, and associated protocols (TCP/IP, WebSocket, SPDY/HTTP2, SSL, SMTP, POP, DNS)
- Experience with Linux/UNIX-based systems and networking technologies
- Knowledge of Internet security products and services
- Experience with cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps environments
- Experience with API development/management and SaaS solutions
- Background working with enterprise customers
- Technical expertise in: intelligent load balancing, application acceleration, application request routing, application security (WAF, L7 DoS, Bot Defense), web serving, dynamic content caching, and TLS/SSL compression offload
