Mirum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on rare diseases, is seeking a Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) for the Liver portfolio based in Long Island, NY. This role combines strategic account management, clinical expertise, and consultative selling in the rare disease space. You will own a defined territory and be responsible for delivering strong business performance and meaningful patient impact. The TAM develops deep clinical expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio, identifies and prioritizes high-opportunity customers and referral networks, and executes customized account plans that advance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, and persistence. Key responsibilities include: **Territory Strategy & Business Performance:** Develop and execute a focused territory business plan aligned with national and regional priorities. Use performance data, customer insights, and market intelligence to identify opportunities and adjust strategy. Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, and administrative documentation. **Strategic Account Management:** Identify and develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks across pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology. Create customized account plans reflecting local patient journeys, key stakeholders, clinical decision-making, and referral patterns. Build trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and care team members. **Clinical Aptitude & Customer Engagement:** Develop deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease, diagnostic pathways, mechanisms of action, clinical data, product profiles, approved uses, safety information, patient support pathways, and access/reimbursement dynamics. Communicate complex scientific information clearly and credibly, tailored to each healthcare professional's knowledge and priorities. Engage as a clinically credible peer, asking insightful questions and uncovering unmet needs. **Influence & Impact:** Help customers recognize gaps in disease awareness, patient identification, and treatment consideration. Use emotional intelligence, curiosity, and thoughtful questioning to build trust with change-resistant professionals. Influence multiple stakeholders without authority and navigate resistance constructively. **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Build productive partnerships with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, and other functions. Capture and communicate timely, objective field insights that inform strategy and execution. Contribute actively to business reviews, training programs, and cross-functional initiatives. **Entrepreneurial Drive:** Operate with high ownership and self-motivation in a rapidly evolving rare disease environment. Create engagement opportunities in underdeveloped accounts, test new approaches, and learn quickly. Maintain sustained drive through pressure and uncertainty. Demonstrate curiosity, coachability, and commitment to continuous learning. The ideal candidate is not a transactional seller but a clinically credible, insight-led partner who engages healthcare professionals as a peer, asks thoughtful questions, and influences change across complex accounts. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred - 5+ years of progressive sales experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry - Demonstrated track record of consistently delivering business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets - Rare disease experience highly preferred; experience in hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or complex specialty markets highly desirable - Strong clinical aptitude and demonstrated ability to learn, retain, and communicate complex disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information - Experience with account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals - Demonstrated ability to use insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively challenge status quo and influence behavior - Working knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and role of patient services in rare disease markets - Strong business acumen and ability to interpret performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into consistent field execution - Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and ability to build trust with diverse, sophisticated customers - Proven self-motivation, resourcefulness, resilience, organization, and ability to prioritize and perform independently in fast-moving, ambiguous environment - Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, and Analytics - Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and approved promotional practices with sound judgment in complex situations - Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend commitments
